Where can I download FREE audio books from?
My mother has failing eyesight but she used to really love reading. She does enjoy listening to talking books. But all the websites I have seen charge a hefty subscription fee. I want to know where I can download well known, new and best seller books from please?
I wouldn’t mind paying a small fee if the website was a really good, well recommended one. with a great selection of best sellers and classic book.
Many thanks.
Gaz.
I have a different suggestion. Your local library should have many books on tape/cd. If you have a cassette or cd player.

The best seller books as well as new novels will have a price as it is illegal to download audio books for free as it is like stealing from the author (just as downloading music for free is illegal). There is a copywrite on a lot of the new material as well as some of the old stuff as well, if you want it for free, you will have to look for books that don’t have a copywrite. I know when I download my audio books that the library does not have I pay about $15 per book off of Itunes and that is pretty expensive if you do that for every book.
What I can reccommed would be to go to your local library and rent some books on cd from them, they have a great selection of classics as well as new novels and it is completely legal and free (as long as you take it back in time)

The best place online I know of that is legal for free auidobooks is:

The books/audio books there are out of copyright in U.S.A. so if you live outside there you need to check the copyright laws of your country. It will only contain older books because the newer ones are still copyrighted. It is good for classic novels. It also has some links to other audio book sites.
